A federal court in Richmond gives preliminary approval to a settlement in a class-action lawsuit brought by victims of internet payday loans who were charged over 600% interest. According to News 8 if the settlement goes through it will bring close to $490 million in relief to more than 550,000 consumers. Settlement class members will receive a mail notification but no application needs to be submitted.
