Two firefighters are injured when an explosion occurred at a burning home in Hurt last Friday. According to fire officials the explosion was the result of oxygen tanks in the home and happened about 15 minutes after firefighters arrived. One of the firefighters suffered second-degree burns. 3 other fire companies assisted crews from Hurt along with personnel from Pittsylvania County Public Safety. The fire’s cause is under investigation.
