An event held at Martinsville Speedway was held to raise money for charity. On Wednesday, race fans were asked to follow VDOT signs around Martinsville Speedway’s track in their own vehicles to raise money for Vet Tix, an organization that provides event tickets to veterans. Track offiicals say it was a great way to give back to area veterans, and a nice way to kick off race weekend by having fans come in and drive on the track. Fans lined up to get their turn on the track for a $25 donation to Vet Tix. Then they got to drive around the track behind the Speedway pace car. The speed limit for fans was 55 MPH, but the raceway reportedly wasn’t all that strict.
