
DANVILLE, Va. – A neon sign atop a Danville restaurant sparked a small fire Monday night.
Crews were called to the Western Sizzlin’ on Riverside Drive just afters 8 p.m. and found a small amount of smoke inside the building.
Firefighters evacuated the restaurant and began looking for the source of the smoke.
A small fire was found on the roof of the building and was extinguished with minor smoke and fire damage to the restaurant.
Investigators determined that a neon sign shorted out and caused the fire.
16 firefighters were on the scene for 90 minutes.
