MARTINSVILLE, Va. – GoodCare, a division of Goodwill, is helping low-income people in the Valley receive job training to enter the healthcare field.

Paul Farrar helps with job placement and referrals through his office in Martinsville and says the program has helped train hundreds of nurses, medical assistants and others for about any program in the health field that is available online or through a community college.

Two-thirds of those who apply are accepted into the program and receive free tuition, equipment and job placement services.

The program is open to applicants in the cities of Martinsville, Lynchburg and Roanoke, along with Henry, Patrick, Bedford and Franklin Counties.
