BURLINGTON, N.C. – Burlington Police have identified the passengers who were injured or killed when a stolen car overturned following a high speed chase.

Amarion Brinae Laury, 16, died at the scene of the crash. Three other teens, 18-year-old Taijon Martre Laury,  Zhiyon Sharae Laury and Anaiya Davis, both 17, were injured in the wreck and transported to area hospitals. The three Laury teens are siblings. All four are from Burlington, N.C.

The teens who survived the crash underwent surgery and are expected to recover, according a friend of the family.

Police say the car was reported stolen Christmas morning from a home on South Sellars Mill Road in Burlington. When an officer spotted the stolen car and turned on his flashing lights, the vehicle sped away.

The car struck a tree and overturned after the driver turned onto Bland Boulevard.

Police say excessive speed was a factor in the wreck.

The driver has been identified as 18-year-old Taijon Laury.
