CARROLL COUNTY, Va. – Carroll County authorities have charged a man with his wife’s murder.

Authorities received a call Sunday about an unresponsive person. Carroll County Fire and Rescue responded and emergency workers found 30-year-old Cassandra Bolen dead at the couple’s home on Holloway Drive in Hillsville.

The medical examiner ruled her death a homicide.

On Thursday, sheriff’s deputies arrested her husband, 36-year-old Marcus Bolen. He is charged with murder and felony child neglect. Bolen is being held in Patrick County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
