RUFFIN, N.C. – A Ruffin man has been charged in a shooting that happened on Saturday.
Rockingham County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested 25-year-old Marcos Curtis Chaney. He is charged with kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, and possession of a stolen firearm.
Investigators responded to Annie Penn Hospital after receiving a report that a woman had been shot. They found Alecia Nicole Motley suffering from a gunshot wound to her upper leg. She was treated and released.
Police say Motley was abducted and assaulted about 4 p.m. Saturday at a home on Wendy Lane in Ruffin.
Chaney was placed in the Rockingham County Jail, where he is being held under a $300,000 secured bond. He is set to appear in court on Jan. 2.
