ROANOKE, Va. – Gusty winds knocked out power to thousands of Appalachian customers in the Roanoke area overnight.

Appalachian confirms more than 3,000 outages in Roanoke and Roanoke County. Other smaller outages were reported throughout southwest Virginia.

According to the company’s website, most service has been restored to most customers on the Southside. About 1,500 outages had been reported in Henry County as a result of the blustery winds.

Crews were working Thursday morning to restore service.
