DANVILLE, Va. – Danville Police are investigating another homicide after a teenager was found dead of a gunshot wounds Friday night.

Investigators were called to the 700 block of Paxton Street just before 9 p.m. Friday after receiving a report of gunshots fired in the neighborhood. On arrival, officers found 17-year old Genesis Salarae Horton with gunshot wounds to the torso. He was taken to Sovah Health Danville, where he died as a result of his injuries.

Horton’s body will be taken to the state medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.

A news release from the department provided no additional details. The homicide remains under investigation.
