DANVILLE, Va. – Danville Police have arrested a suspect in a pair of convenience store robberies in the city and in Ruffin, N.C.
19-year-old Luis Eurricue Torres of Eden, N.C. was arrested by Danville Police and charged with robbing Junior’s Convenience Store on West Main Street shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday. He is also charged with a similar robbery that occurred about two hours earlier at the Harvest Ridge Market on US 29 Business in Rockingham County, N.C.
In each instance, a white male wearing a camouflage face mask and brandishing a silver pistol entered the establishments, pointed a gun at the clerk, and demanded money. No one was injured in the robberies.
Torres is charged in Rockingham County with robbery with a dangerous weapon. In Danville, he faces charges of robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and wearing a mask in public.
He is being held in the Danville City Jail with no bond.
