DANVILLE, VA — Danville Police, fire and rescue units responded to a shooting on Riverside Drive late Saturday night.

The call came about 10:25 p.m. from 3211 Riverside Drive, near the Western Sizzlin’ Restaurant and Riverside Lanes.

Authorities responded to a call that someone had been shot and found a 17-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Sovah Health Danville, where he was treated for a non-life threatening wound to his leg.

The shooting remains under investigation by Danville Police. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Danville Crime Stoppers at 434-793-0000.

No arrests had been made as of early Sunday morning.
