(Rockingham County, N.C.) — An Eden man faces a DWI after the pick-up truck he was driving slammed into the back of a Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle.
Deputy Kaleb Shelton was en route to a call for service around 8:00 Monday night when he stopped behind a vehicle turning into a driveway in the 2000-block of Worsham Mill Road in Eden. At this point, his police cruiser was struck from behind.
The truck was driven by 35-year-old Eric Dustin Wade of Eden. In addition DWI, Wade has outstanding charges in Virginia. He was placed in the Rockingham County Detention Center.
Neither Shelton nor Wade was injured in the wreck.
