(South Hill, Va.) — Remains found inside a stolen vehicle in Mecklenburg County last week have been identified as a missing woman from Cumberland County.
Amy Renee Fabian had been missing since May 24 when her remains were discovered in a wooded area near South Hill last Thursday.
Fabian’s former boyfriend, George W. Knisley IV, faces charges in her death. The 41-year-old has already has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Matthew Broyles, who was found dead in Fabian’s home the day she went missing.
Knisley was arrested after leading law enforcement on a vehicle chase in the Raleigh, N.C. Knisley is jailed in North Carolina, where he awaits extradition to Cumberland County.
State Police say additional charges pending in Cumberland and Mecklenburg Counties.
