(Danville, Va.) — Daviez Daquan Hairston has pleaded guilty to shooting at a Virginia State Police Special Agent.
The 19-year-old Danville man had been charged with attempted malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm as a convicted felon, and three counts of shooting from a vehicle after a police chase and shootout on Moffett Street.
Hairston had confessed to the crime to his father and said he didn’t realize he was shooting at a state trooper at the time of the incident.
His case had been set for trial Wednesday but Hairston changed his plea.
Hairston faces up to 48 years in prison when he is sentenced next month.
