(Eden, N.C.) — An Eden teacher has been charged with distributing cocaine.

Rockingham County authorities have charged Stoneville Elementary School fourth-grade teacher 43-year-old Rebekah Carroll Tulloch with multiple counts, including felony trafficking in cocaine.

She was suspended without pay Friday after Eden police arrested her on four felony charges related to more than 400 grams of cocaine and firearms.

Officials say the crimes did not occur on school property.

Tulloch is being held at the Rockingham County Jail in Wentworth pending a July 15 appearance in Rockingham County Superior Court.
