(Danville, Va.) — Danville Police are investigating another homicide, the third in the city this year.

Officers were called to the 1000 block of Lanier Ave. about 12:50 Friday afternoon, where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound inside a home. Efforts to resuscitate the victim were unsuccessful and he died at the scene.

Authorities identify the man as 25-year-old Caleb Henry Morris of Danville.

At last report, no arrest had been made.

The shooting comes just one day after Danville Police Chief Scott Booth announced a significant reduction in violent crime in the city, including homicides.
