(Danville, Va.) — A Danville woman will be sentenced in June after entering guilty pleas in the death of her grandmother.

33-year-old Brenda Ann Gomez-Lasarski entered guilty pleas Thursday to charges of abuse and involuntary manslaughter. She was originally charged with felony homicide and abuse of an incapacitated adult resulting in a death.

Police officers and members of the Danville Life Saving Crew responded to a home in the 100-block of Park Avenue on Aug. 11, 2018 for a report of a woman in cardiac arrest. Dorothy Jean George, 71, was pronounced dead at the scene. George suffered from various health issues and her granddaughter was her primary caregiver.
