(Gretna, Va.) – Units responded to a fire in the northern end of Pittsylvania County Thursday morning.

According to the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, the fire was at a house in the 300-block of Irby Circle in Gretna.

The first units on scene reported a large wood frame structure that was fully involved. The house was destroyed by the fire.

The Gretna, Chatham, Climax, Cool Branch and Hurt Volunteer Fire Departments all responded to 361 Irby Circle off Sycamore Road.

Gretna Rescue was also dispatched after the initial call was received at 2:21 Thursday but no injuries were reported in the fire.
