(Danville, Va.) — The Danville Fire Department responded to a house fire at 330 Henry Street at 7:27 Saturday morning.
Crews arrived to find moderate smoke coming from the front door and a roof vent of the home.
Engine 1 crewmen entered the building and firefighters found a small fire at the back of a stove that had also ignited the cabinets. The fire was controlled quickly in part by an immediate call to 911 by the occupants.
There was smoke damage to parts of the house and the stove was removed from the residence.
The fire was caused by an electrical issue in the stove.
There were no injuries and the two occupants are being helped by the local Red Cross.
The DFD responded with three engines and a ladder truck. Firefighters were on scene for 45 minutes.
