(Danville, Va.) – A 17-year-old Danville teen was gunned down in the middle of Arnett Boulevard Sunday afternoon.

Danville Police as yet have no motive in the homicide, which happened just before 4:00 pm in front of 741 Arnett. When officers responded, they found a 17-year-old male lying in the street. The Danville Lifesaving crew responded but the teen was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim’s family has been notified, and the teen’s stepfather identified him as Hakeem King.

Investigators cordoned off the area with yellow crime scene tape and recovered a number of spent shell casings in the street.

While investigators were on scene, a call about shots fired in the 300 block of Juless Street came in, however, police could not say whether the incident is related to the fatal shooting.

At this point, Danville Police have no suspects in the homicide and are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (434) 793-0000.
