(Danville, VA) – A Juvenile is in custody after a house fire Friday evening.  The Danville Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 128 Knollwood terrace.  Upon arrival crews found all the occupants outside the home and light smoke showing from the front entrance.  They also said the fire had been contained by a fire extinguisher that was kept in the home.

Firefighters during a sweep of the home found charred bedding and a charred section of wall.  The bedding was removed and smoke was cleared from the remainder of the house.  The damage was estimated at roughly $1,100 between possessions and the home itself.

After the investigation by the Fire Marshall one juvenile who hasn’t been a confirmed but presumably lives in the home was taken into custody for starting the fire.  No one was injured and the family was able to return to the home.
