(Danville, Va.) — Danville Police have made an arrest in a murder that happened in Windsor Heights just two days before Christmas.

Antwain Maurice Jones has been charged with the murder of David Bernard Stewart. A grand jury issued indictments against Jones on Monday for first degree murder, two counts use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and malicious wounding.

Jones was extradited to Danville from Texas and is being held in the Danville City Jail without bond. He had previously been listed as “a person of interest” in the homicide.

Officers responded on December 23, 2018 to a party at a Downing Drive address and found a 23 year-old female and David Bernard Stewart suffering from gunshot wounds. Stewart died from his injuries.
