(Richmond, Va.) — At least five area former priests are named in a sex abuse list released by the Diocese of Richmond Wednesday.

The list includes 42 priests across central and southwestern Virginia, and five who served in the Roanoke, Lynchburg, Bedford and South Boston parishes. All five have since been convicted, removed from the priesthood or have died.

Two priests who served Southside Virginia congregations are on the list, including Eugene John Teslovic. He was ordained in 1977 and was removed by the church in 2002.

While working as a priest, he served at St. Paschal Baylon in South Boston and Holy Name of Mary in Bedford.

A former priest who spent time in Martinsville is also on the list. John Joseph Munley was pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Martinsville between 1971 and 1975. He died in 1995.

The list does not say how many accusers the men faced.

In a statement released with the list, Bishop of Richmond Barry C. Knestout said: “To those who experienced abuse from clergy, I am truly, deeply sorry.”
