(Danville, VA) – Danville Police were called to the Dollar General on 58 East Thursday afternoon for reports of a shooting.  Upon arrival authorities found an unidentified 29 year old male suffering from a gunshot wound(s).  The victim was taken from the scene via Life Flight helicopter for treatment.

The Danville Life Saving Crew and the Danville Fire Department were first on scene at 3:48 pm.

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in tracking down a RED 2000’s MODEL CHEVROLET PICKUP that was seen leaving the scene.

At this point investigators do not believe the victim was a customer inside the store and there is no word on the shooter or motive in the incident.
