(Danville, Va.) — Danville Utilities has scheduled a planned power outage for the White Oak substation at 4 a.m. Thursday to allow for preventative maintenance of a transformer. The outage is expected to last less than one hour.

Nearly 3,500 customers in the Mount Hermon area will lose power while the substation is de-energized, the transformer maintenance performed, and the substation re-energized.

The National Weather Service forecasts moderate temperatures overnight, with temperatures around 60 degrees.
