(Sebring, FL)  Just after noon a gunman alerted authorities that he had opened fire inside of a local Sun Trust Bank location just South of Tampa.  The shooting left a least five people dead.  It is unclear whether the victims are employees or just customers in the bank.

Zephen Xaver, 21, of Sebring is in custody after barricading himself in the bank with hostages.  After initial negotiations broke down a swat team breached the bank and reopened dialogue leading to the surrender several hours later.

“This is a terrible day for Sebring, Highlands County and for the state of Florida,” Gov. Ron DeSantis said.
