(Danville, Va.) — A mix of sleet, freezing rain and rain fell overnight in the city, with a minor accumulation of ice in trees, but no accumulation on streets. Public Works crews spread salt on bridges to prevent any buildup of ice. Police reported no weather-related traffic accidents.
Danville Utilities reports more than 500 customers are without power, including 471 customers in portions of the Mount Hermon and Blairs communities who lost power at 6:07 a.m. when a feeder circuit went offline. The remaining outages are scattered in Pittsylvania and Halifax counties.
Utility crews have been dispatched for these outages.
