(Danville, Va.) – The man charged with abducting his daughter from the Kwik Mart on Riverside Drive entered guilty pleas in Danville Circuit Court Wednesday.

Carl Ray Kennedy pleaded guilty to parental kidnapping, abduction by force and related charges in the kidnapping of Emma Grace Kennedy in June 2018.

Virginia State Police issued an Amber Alert and the one-year old was found safe in Randleman, North Carolina two days after the abduction. Her father was taken into custody and returned to Danville to face trial.

Kennedy will be sentenced February 27 and up to 35 years in prison.
