(Danville, Va.)  — The Danville Fire Marshall has determined that a fire that destroyed a Betts Street home Wednesday night was started intentionally.

At around eight o’ clock Wednesday night, firefighters responded to 613 Betts Street, where they found heavy fire coming from the roof and left side of the house. The home was so involved that crews had to fight the fire from outside the structure. A ladder truck helped beat back the flames and firefighters were on the scene for about three-and-a-half hours. No one was home at the time and there were no injuries.

Investigators have determined that the fire was “incendiary” and are asking anyone with information to call Danville Police.
