(Bedford County, Va.) — Virginia State Police say a Forest woman died in a weekend crash in Bedford County.

The accident happened just after 10:00 Sunday morning on Route 460, one-quarter mile east of Route 803 in Bedford County. Troopers say a 2005 Mazda Tribute was traveling west on Route 460, when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, struck the ditch line and overturned. The driver was identified as 61-year-old Linda Ann Bonniville of Forest, Va., police say. Bonniville was wearing her seatbelt and died at the scene.

A motorcyclist was killed following a head-on collision in Madison Heights Sunday. Virginia State Police said 34-year-old Thomas Chambers was westbound on Seminole Drive when the driver of a Kia Soul crossed the center line and struck him. Chambers was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital where he died. Officials say Chambers was wearing a helmet. The 21-year-old driver of the Kia, was treated at the scene for minor injuries. State Police say that charges are pending.
