(South Boston, Va.)  — South Boston Police are investigating a shooting that sent a 26-year-old to the hospital.

Police received a call Tuesday night for shots fired at the intersection of Jeffress Boulevard and Broad Street in South Boston. By the time they arrived, the victim had been transported to Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital, where he was undergoing treatment for a gunshot wound to the leg. He is expected to recover.

No arrests have been made at this point but South Boston Police collected evidence at the scene that will be sent to the Department of Forensic Science in Richmond for analysis.
