(Danville, Va.) — The eastbound lanes of River Street have reopened  and crews expect to open at least one of the westbound lanes shortly. River Street was closed to all traffic earlier in the day because of flood waters.

The National Weather Service Blacksburg has updated flood projections for the Dan River in Danville. At 11:01 a.m., the river level was at 20.37 feet in Danville. Minor flooding occurs at 17 feet. Moderate flooding occurs at 20.5 feet. The river is projected to crest at 21.4 feet late this afternoon.
