(Danville, Va.) — God’s Pit Crew is back in Danville but volunteers aren’t getting any rest after working around-the-clock in Florida and North and South Carolina. Crew Chief Randy Johnson says they are helping local homeowners who suffered flood damage when Tropical Storm Michael slammed the city last Thursday.

Crews worked Wednesday to gut the home of a 90-year-old woman on Parkland Drive who had five feet of water in her house. Johnson notes the local non-profit has crews working “all over town” to clear trees and make emergency repairs. He admits workers are exhausted after working back-to-back hurricanes in the South.

God’s Pit Crew continues to send truckloads of relief supplies to hurricane victims in Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas.
