(Martinsville, Va.) — A 71-year-old man has been charged after Martinsville police say he shot another man in the face.

James D. Tolliver of Martinsville was arrested after the Friday night incident. He is charged with aggravated malicious wounding after allegedly shooting 34-year-old John C. Daniels of Martinsville in the face during an argument in the 900 block of Palace Court.

Daniels was last listed in critical but stable condition at SOVAH Health Martinsville.

Tolliver also faces firearms charges and is being held in the Martinsville City Jail under no bond.
