(Danville, Va.) — Danville Police are investigating a home invasion and rape that happened Wednesday night in the 500 block of Ingram Street.

Officers responded just before 11 p.m. and spoke with an adult female victim. The woman told police two black males kicked in the back door of the house and raped her. Both of the assailants were armed with handguns and had some type of clothing covering their faces.

One was short. The other is described as taller. Both suspects fled on foot.

An officer with a K-9 was called in to assist with a track.

The victim was transported to a medical facility for treatment.
