(South Boston, Va.) — A South Boston bank was robbed Monday morning.

Police say a man entered the American National Bank on Old Halifax Road in South Boston around 9:50 a.m. and handed a note to a teller threatening to shoot employees if they did not give him money.

The teller gave the man some cash and he fled on foot. No weapon was displayed and no one was injured.

The robber is described as a black male in his 20’s, wearing a light-colored hoodie, with a green t-shirt underneath, blue jeans and sunglasses.

Virginia State Police assisted local authorities in their search Monday and are asking anyone with information to call authorities.

The bank was closed through mid-day as police searched the area.
