(Danville, Va.) – Danville firefighters responded to an apartment fire on Edmonds Street Monday afternoon.

When crews arrived about 2 p.m., they could see smoke showing from the front door of the apartment.

Firefighters were told by neighbors that no one was inside at the time.

Crews found a bed on fire with no extension to the structure. The fire was contained and the cause of the fire was ruled accidental.

No injuries were reported.

The Red Cross is helping the occupant with temporary housing.
