CHATHAM, VA – After the abrupt cancellation of Regional One’s emergency service as a backup EMS transport Pittsylvania County officials have been working to find a new group for the task.  Hurt in particular was the focus and motivation for finding a replacement.  Starting September 1st Appomattox based Delta Response Team will take over as the backup service provider.  The new agreement included provisions for Delta Response Team to staff three ambulances 24 hours a day, seven days a week to back up Pittsylvania’s volunteer rescue squads when necessary.  The temporary coverage for the hurt area was being handled by Cool Branch and Blairs VFD.  Board chairman Bob Warren thanked the two agencies for their service to the county, and commended the work of all volunteers over the past few months. “We want to make sure we’re on record from this board that we truly appreciate your efforts and your service.”
