(Pelham, N.C.) –A Pelham man is charged with attempting to rob the Dollar General store on US 158 in Reidsville, N.C.

A man wielding a shotgun entered the store about 3:00 Tuesday afternoon, walked to the office area and demanded cash from an employee. The employee told the man she had no money and he fled on foot.

Rockingham County Sheriff’s deputies searched the area and arrested 21-year-old Timmy Lee Bailey of Bob Gauldin Road in Pelham. Gauldin is charged with the attempted armed robbery of Dollar General.

Bailey was placed in the Rockingham County Detention Center under a $250,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 22.
