(Martinsville, Va.) – 24-year-old Terrell Martin of Martinsville has been indicted for murder and 128 other charges related to a shooting death last December.

A grand jury in Martinsville returned the indictments Monday, many of which remain sealed.

Martin faces charges related to the death of 34-year-old Tyrone Antwon Herndon of Martinsville.

Martin is charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and reckless handling of a firearm in the December 30 incident.

Martinsville Police responded to the Valero station on Brookdale Road just after midnight that Saturday after receiving reports of a fight in process. Herndon was found suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to SOVAH Hospital in Martinsville where he was pronounced dead.

Martin was identified as a suspect almost immediately and was on the run for nearly two weeks. He was arrested on January 11 in the city of Franklin.

Witnesses say the shooting followed an argument that started when Herndon refused to shake Martin’s hand in the parking lot of the gas station.
