(Danville, Va.) – Virginia State police say that 52-year-old Carl Kennedy, the man believed to have abducted 7-month-old Emma Grace Kennedy, may have been sighted in the area of Seven Springs, North Carolina at about 6:30 Monday evening.

Police believe he may be heading to Oak Island, North Carolina.

The 2007 Gold Suzuki four-door Forenza Kennedy is driving may have North Carolina plates with EKZ-5093 on them.

Meanwhile, WRAL TV reports that the search was expanded to the Triangle Tuesday after someone reported being stopped by a man who was attempting to sell a baby. Durham Police say the man described didn’t completely match Carl Ray Kennedy, but it was enough to add Durham and Wake counties to the search area.

The FBI says Kennedy should be considered armed and dangerous.
