(Danville, Va.) — A Danville grand jury has indicted Diairion Marqui Davis in last month’s murder on Rocklawn Ave. Davis has been indicted on first-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a violent convicted felon.

Davis is charged in the shooting death of Arthur Anderson, who was found lying in the 200 block Anderson was found lying in the street of the 200 block of Rocklawn Avenue with a gunshot wound during the early morning hours of  May 14. He later died at the hospital.

Davis’ wife told police that her husband was involved with gang members and that he two other men had planned a robbery; however, Davis and Anderson got into a fight that resulted in the shooting.

Danville Police were able to locate Davis later that day in North Carolina and he was arrested following a shootout with Greensboro police.
