(Danville, Va.) — With graduation ceremonies set for Friday, May 25, and Saturday, May 26, at Averett University’s North Campus, the Danville Police Department reminds motorists to expect heavy traffic in the area.
Tunstall High School will hold a commencement ceremony Friday, May 25. The ceremony will take place at 6:00 p.m. at the E. Stuart James Grant Athletic & Convocation Center at the North Campus, 707 Mount Cross Road. The ceremony is expected to conclude at 9:00 p.m.
On Saturday, May 26, there will be several high school graduation ceremonies held at Averett’s North Campus. Gretna High School, Chatham High School, and Dan River High School will hold their ceremonies starting at approximately 7:00 a.m. continuing throughout the day, and concluding at approximately 6:00 p.m.
Heavy traffic along Mount Cross Road, as well as Piedmont Drive, Riverside Drive and Westover Drive, is expected prior to and following each graduation.
Motorists are advised to slow down and proceed with caution and allow ample time to reach their destination.
