(Danville, Va.) – Twenty arrests have been made and more suspects are being sought following an undercover investigation into drugs, weapons and pornography.

Investigators presented evidence to a Danville grand jury late last month. The joint investigation with the ATF began in July of 2017, and culminated in grand jury indictments against 27 individuals on a total of 70 charges.

The Danville Police Department Special Investigations Division conducted “Operation Blue Thunder” to arrest the individuals.

Virginia State Police, Roanoke ATF field office, Roanoke US Marshall’s Fugitive Task Force, the Lynchburg FBI office, Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s office, the Martinsville Police Department, Roanoke City Police Department, Roanoke County Sheriff’s Office, and the Danville Commonwealth Attorney’s office all assisted in the investigation.
