(Danville, Va.) — A look at job trends in the local labor market shows Danville posting modest job growth over the past decade.

The city of Danville was one of only two localities in the region to post gains over the past ten years. In September 2007, there were 19,503 people in the local workforce. By September 2017, that number had grown to 19,549.

In September 2007, there were 1,388 people unemployed and in September 2017, that number had dropped to 1,107.

Danville’s unemployment rate also dropped from 7.1 percent in 2007 to 5.7 percent in September 2017.
