HENRY COUNTY, Va. – Virginia State Police say a medical emergency may have preceded a fatal crash in Henry County.

The accident happened just before 10:30 Wednesday night on Route 58, west of Route 684, in Henry County.

The driver was identified as 61-year-old Ronnie Robertson, of Spencer, Va.

Robertson was driving a Chevrolet 1500 pickup west on Route 58, when he crossed the road and stopped against an embankment.

State Police say it appears Robertson suffered a medical emergency just before leaving the roadway. He died at the scene.
