DANVILLE, Va. – Danville City Registrar Peggy Petty says voter turnout has been strong in Danville today.

She’s expecting a 40-45% turnout, or about 11,000-13,000 voters to head to the polls before 7 p.m.

At 3:30 p.m., 25% had voted at American Legion; 25% at Grove Park School; 20% at Glenwood; and 21% at Doyle Thomas Park on Green Street.

At 4 p.m., lines could be seen at Ballou Park, Danville’s largest precinct.

Voters in Danville are casting ballots in state House and Senate races, clerk of circuit court, and deciding whether the city will be the next site for an off-track horse racing emporium.
