DANVILLE, Va. – It was a big night for incumbent Republicans in Southside Virginia.

Del. Danny Marshall and state Senators Frank Ruff and Bill Stanley were returned to Richmond by wide margins.

Marshall faced a challenge from political newcomer Eric Stamps. Stanley retained his state Senate seat, beating back Independent Sherman Witcher. Ruff beat Democrat Virginia Smith.

Chatham Del. Les Adams also won another two-year term, defeating Libertarian Justin Evans.
