(Chatham, Va.) – A maker of wood panels for furniture has announced a $1 million expansion of its Chatham operation.

The manufacturer plans to move operations to a 55,000 square-foot facility in the Chatham Industrial Park, adding 15 positions.

Eastern Panel Mfg. Inc. is a custom plywood manufacturer that laminates and machines decorative wood veneers to a variety of core materials.

The company provides office, residential, and contract furniture manufacturers with cut-to-size, or sheet stock plywood to their specifications. EPM also services the Architectural Millwork industry along with many cabinetmaking clients.

Eastern Panel started operations on Bridge Street in Danville but moved its headquarters to Chatham more than 20 years ago. Manufacturing is currently being done in the Woodlawn Heights neighborhood of Chatham.
